So you really wanna get started programming but you don't know what to program with. Well below are some cool programs you can use to program!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOTEPAD OR OTHER TEXT EDITOR:
DOWNLOAD: if you have window you already have on otherwise just go to download.com
RATING OUT OF 10: 4.0
ADVANTAGES: Absolutly no learning curve involved with it. Also, always can make clean code and usually is pretty bug free.
DISADVANTAGES: It will add a couple of hours to every site you make. You have to hard code everything. Absolutly no GUI. Very easy to make mistakes in. Doesn't come with a web server. Doesn't color code or indent anything.
OVERALL: Unless you are very experienced with ASP.NET or have way to much time on your hands don't use this
ASP.NET WEBMATRIX

RATING OUT OF 10: 8.0
ADVANTAGES: Very easy to use. Free. A wonderful support community. Very nice GUI. Will color code and indent code and stuff. Has some very useful templates you can use. Comes with easily integrated web server
DISADVANTAGES: Usually kinda buggy. Not completely full featured.
OVERALL: This is my main choice of all of the ASP.NET editors. It has some very nice features and it is free. Every new version they work out some of the kinks and that makes a lot better
VISUAL STUDIO.NET 2003

RATING OUT OF 10: 6.0
ADVANTAGES: Very nice program. Nearly no bugs. Very fast. Automaticly does code-behind. Very nice uploader
DISADVANTAGES: Very expensive. The web server only works with XP pro or 2000 or server editions. Very complex. no templates at all
Overall: This is the professional choice if you have lots of people working on the site and stuff
I would use ASP.NET Web Matrix to start out with!!
